    Wow that's a cool find! I see at least 5. Any on the reverse? And is that MD in "NEW ZEALAND"?

    What is the difference between a modern die crack and an ancient die crack?;);)

    That is the reverse. The obverse will have a picture of King George on it.

    And Yes very cool to see, wonder if they got to the shattered die stage or replaced it before that happened.

    Yep haha. I am used to coins with the date on the front though, so I will put them in albums with the reverse showing. :D

    I was born in 1943, therefore, this coin qualifies for ancient.

    the age. You see less cracks in modern coins - and this one is rather severe

    Canada has some 50c "hoof in date" varieties from that era, which are die cracks. Mine isn't significant enough though.
