So now I know what John Lennon was singing about in his song Cold Turkey..... Current economic conditions have business at a crawl and I have put myself on a coin diet..... Gawd this hurts..... So I need the community to post photo's of your most spectacular coins. Maybe photos will ease the pain of withdrawal.

I hear you sir. I went a couple of months without something coming in, (wife has mother here and spending money like its hot), so I passed on some auctions for a while. Now, I have bought some thing but from Europe so waiting for the coins to show up. :(

Here is a Trajan sestertius on my office chair arm. :)

That's a mighty big "maybe" buddy ! My guess would be there's a higher probability seeing all those coins you'd like will only make things worse :inpain: :hurting:

Btw, are you like me and leave around bags and boxes of coins lying around? That is what I do when no stuff coming in, dig around stuff I bought years ago. I could go to SDB and visit coins I haven't seen in decades or more, but I admit usually am too lazy to bother. I do think my SDBs drive me buying more coins, I do not see all I already own so I buy new ones so I can play with coins.

Here is one with Jason cutting off Medusa's head for you man:

I've put coins to the side for now...working on a Mardi Gras Doubloon sub-collection though (aluminum is much cheaper!).

Be careful, it can be fun and depressing. Once I was putting away a nice pillar dollar, because I thought "hey, I always wanted to own a nice pillar dollar". I found 4 others already in the SDB. At least it was jarring enough I now know I DO own at least one nice pillar dollar. Still didn't stop me though, I have bought 4 more since just because.

You must have been relaxing, err working, at your beach house yesterday Randy. Here’s one of mine:

I went through the very same thing with 1853 A&R halves. I too have four of them. Possibly more... And discovered that after I posted here a few months back asking for help locating a really nice one.... Perhaps I should dig out the old stuff and see.

Boy that "just because" part makes me feel so much better :) Ya see, I always had to have a valid reason to justify buying another coin - it had to be a day that a Y in it :D

    My main reason is always........coins.

I guess I forgot about a group I bought Saturday. Baggy of ancients, at least half just junk. Decent Macedonian tet under the Romans, ok Postumus double sestertius, nothing I really collect but.. COINS! :)

Here is one of my favorites and one that is quite unique. This is a 2011 ASE DDO from the 2011 Anniversary Set. It is not very popular but I found 2 of them in me accumulation.

Talking about John Lennon, I mentioned earlier today that there are 5 Beetles on the cover of Abby Lane.
