Sorry I will probably miss you @BuffaloHunter . I cannot go until late morning/moonshine today. Had to work yesterday and do neighborhood cleanup this morning.

I will be there in an hour or so wearing a red Twins tee shirt, 6'1" if anyone sees me. :)

WOW!! I live about 2 hours N, and hadn't any idea that many here would be within reasonable traveling distance of an infrequent MN coin show. Great!

I was probably walking out while you were walking in. How was the show for you?

I’m going to write up a complete report some time this week. Have one coin coming in the mail from one of the dealers and will get pics of all of them and post back to this thread along with my report.

I look forward to that, Steve! How about the NWCC show in March at that same venue?

It was fine. I went there to buy a couple thousand buffalos, but it seems some dealer went around buying them before I got there. I did see a baggy of ancients a guy had, selling for a friend. Half were junk, literally, but one was a tetradrachm of Macedon under Roman rule and a few other decent coins in there. Made a couple of new contacts too, which can be more valuable long term.

    How about you?

I traded silver off and added coins to both my walker short set and my type set, with one of those being a pedigreed piece! Hope to have all the pics up by the end of the week.

Let’s get it on the calendar for the next MOON show then, October 2022.

I would say try to make a static time at both shows to meet up so people could plan around. Maybe 1 at the food court outside on Saturday.

Crikey, it took me long enough to follow up on this. I'll try to keep it short and sweet and add the "show 'n tell" for each day.

Friday, Oct.8th: Was at the show all day long - noon to 6PM. The floor was packed for the first three hours or so. Lots of dealer to dealer activity going on. Plenty of people selling junk silver to the dealers as well (including me). The show started slowing down midway through on this day and I was able to sit and talk with a few of the dealers that I have made friends with through the years. All were happy to be at a show again and reported they were doing great business as well. Opposite to the folks selling off junk silver, the dealers I talked to said that they were selling a lot of bullion as well.

My purchases this day saw me adding to my type set with a nice example of a Flying Eagle Cent, two additions to my Walker short set, one coin added to my early commems and two to my modern commems:

Oh, and on this day I also ran into a currency dealer who had a pile of recent hobo nickels that I believe our resident @Brent hobonickel carved. I took a quick glance over their table and was about to walk away but the one gentlemen asked if I had seen the nickels they had because he noticed the shirt I was wearing (see post above for Fridays apparel selection). He must have had a hundred pieces and I sat there and looked at all of them! I picked out these four and added them to my collection:

Saturday, Oct. 9th: This was a short day for me. I was at the doors when they opened at 10AM but left around noon or so - not making a meet and greet with @medoraman - hopefully some of us can make it happen next year!

This day I was able to pick up a piece that is now a prized piece in my collection and an excellent add to my type set. The pedigreed cent below makes me smile. I also was able to obtain my first CWT, a few more modern commems and a reverse proof ASE (have wanted one of these since they first came out and was glad I found one that was reasonably priced - IMO):

It was great to take in a show again and mingle with fellow coin nerds. I look forward to the next one...........

Well next one will be in the spring with NW Coin club show, same place. :)

I had a "wild hair" and for some reason wanted a couple of thousand buffalos. Unfortunately someone went around the show Saturday morning and bought all of them up, (dated common coins, I think I want to get an old timey front glass 5 cent nickel slot and fill it up with them).

So, I missed out on that. I did see a baggy of ancients at a table, the dealer had them for a friend. Most were junk, but it did have a fairly nice Macedon Tet under Roman rule, (First Meris), and a few other good coins in there. So, I picked up a baggy of ancients is all.
