    Fun design, @Collecting Nut! Some people catch the campgate bug and they go deep, deep, DEEP into their varieties, mints, and such.

    My first -- or among the first -- campgate I acquired was this one. I've had it some 25 years or so:

    Roman Æ Centenionalis, 3.86 gm, 18.2 mm.
    Heraclea, AD 327-329.
    Obv: CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust, right.
    Rev: PROVIDENT-IAE-CAESS, campgate with two turrets, no doors; star above. Dot left field; SMHЄ in exergue.
    Refs: RIC 96; RCV 17241; Cohen 164.

    I was luck enough to buy part of a collection of Arles campgates a couple of years back. They were a mix of standard campgate and the open-door types of Constantine the Great and Constantine II.
