    These 2 francs coins were minted at Philadelphia, to be used in the south of France when the US troops landed in Provence

    I never thought to group them as WWII. It's interesting how many countries I have, here's a sample. My grandfather was the librarian at the Chicago Tribune so I think most of these were brought back to the US by returning war correspondents. (No need to say "flatten the staples" - they've been in this album for almost 50 years)

    Very nice collection! I just like to group them in different ways; most of the time it's by countries but I find the world wars to be quite interesting.
