Hey, what do you all think? It was given to me by my grandfather. What would you grade it? Also, how could I get this authenticated?

    Thanks

All I know so far is that is,in fact, real gold.

Russian 10 Roubles, Nicholas II, Gold content 8.602g gold, purity .900 (90%)

Hi, its a nice looking coin, but its not easy to accurately grade from just photos and the light is not great in your pics. I would grade conservativly at around EF, which I think is a lower AU using the US Grading system.

The gold value is around $250, but you will get a premium as Russian coins are quite widely collected and it is a nice grade, probably around $300-$400.

You can Authenticate a few ways, you could send it away to be slabbed and professionally graded, alternatively take it to a local dealer or specialist, most will usually give you a free 'spoken' appraisal.

Would you recommend me sending it to get professionally graded, and put in a case, or just leave it?

Leave it. It's not in a high enough grade to be worth TPGing, although it is a nice coin.

This coin is in great condition, it has very little wear (almost none).

Whatever you do, don't consider selling it. I'm not sure if your grandfather was from the former Soviet Union, but if your family has heritage in that region then definitely don't sell it. Some people on here may disagree, but I think that coins passed on from family members should always be kept in the family. Your grandfather may have made a significant investment back in the day to have this coin. I personally got a 1913 Romanov Anniversary Rouble from my grandfather, and I would never let it leave the family.

Regardless of value, grade, XF vs. UNC, it definitely is a great coin and one that is highly desirable.

I agree, it is a very nice coin with a lot of history behind it. I do not plan to sell this coin.
