Just bought this 1918S Walker, PCGS EF-40, from JJ Teaparty. I'm going to do the early dates of the set in EF-40, and this is the first addition to that half of the set. It looks to be a choice, original coin, and I'm looking forward to getting it in hand. Tell me what y'all think:
I've bought several coins from them and I'm impressed. They are on the high end of customer relations. Very pleasant to deal with.
Several of my Bust Halves have come from them. The coins are generally more attractive than the pictures indicate - usually darker. They have a good eye, I have not been disappointed yet. Customer service is great, and they are generally pretty fast with the shipping. I highly recommend JJ Teaparty.
I dealt with JJ teaparty one time and they were knowledgeable and very friendly and that coin looks to be very nice at that grade with a beautiful natural patina that so many of the older walkers are missing.
Very nice... much nicer than the one in my album. I'm hoping to upgrade some of my walkers some day. They are stunning in higher grades!
It looks like you made a nice purchase from Teaparty. They seem to have some very knowledgeable "boots on the ground" at the major shows and have a lot of nice coins in grades that I collect, although I have yet to make a purchase from them. Here's my 18-s, I really like circ Walkers!
ksparrow - nice Walker. What do you grade it? I'm just learning the series, so I'm trying to pick up grading - I would call yours an EF-45.
I see I never followed up on Jason's question, LOL. 3 months later, the coin still looks the same.. I'm sure it's XF, I don't think I know enough to distinguish between 40 and 45. I bought this one raw, like a lot of my early Walkers.
Haha, talk about resurrecting a thread. In the three months, I have learned a bit also. I would grade yours 45 - and I still like it!
