I saw a Thread like this in another forum and thought it would be a very cool thread to have here. So please by all means post your most prized notes from your collection. I am rescanning my notes tonight and will do so later so they are the same size except for one that is not made it to me yet. So let's go..let's see those beauties. RickieB
There was recently a thread like this recently here. I have a proposal to make it interesting. Let's have similar threads here regularly but with some poker-like rules. Maybe even make it like a turnament. You cannot post the same note twice in this series of threads. You may have only one post in a thread. After some period each thread is locked and the winner is announced. Several winners participade in next series of threads. And, sure enough, you must own what you are showing. So, if you use your greatest note in one thread you might lose in another thread. Otherwise it's just posts with what we already saw.
That sounds fine to me so as long as you are putting stipulations on it lets start with Small Size notes everyone..why not?? Are you suggesting a note limit as well?? Say 15-20 notes? Can you link that old thread vrt? What say you all ?? RickieB

I'm ready to go, I just need to know what "small size" means. In centimeters, please :hail::whistle: Dave
My most prized note was a $10 buffalo legal tender, but I sold it in the 90's. To this day, I still cry about it. You know the old quote "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, its yours forever. If it dosent, then it was never meant to be." Don't believe a word of it. That note never came back to me. But, I still have the note I posted in this thread. http://www.cointalk.com/t31102/ It's a 1935A $1 Silver Certificate that was featured on the cover of Stephen Sullivan's "US Error Note Encyclopedia".
i am game just curious what you mean by poker-like rules. how are we scored? how many notes do we post? lets do this!!!! :thumb:
Not sure what they are, looked them once before was told they were in use before the Euro began. Not much in the way of value, but I like em just the same.
Maybe bridge-like would be more appropriate - the idea is you should post something in one of these threads only something that you think is better (by any criterion or by somethig anounced in the beginning) than anything that was already posted. But once you posted something in one of these threads you cannot use it again in any of these threads untill the game reset. At some point (after some days or after some posts) each thread should be locked and somebody is named as a winner - that's the only score I can imagine. It's just a proposal - you can refine it.
Guys... I am sorry to say but this is the Paper Money Forum.. no coins please. Please take no offense. I like coins too.. RickieB
So we need some more folks to sign up.. VRT since this was your idea, why dont you formulate the plan...once agreed upon, then we can start the 1st Thread! RickieB
opps, sorry, I read the Post without reading where I was Posting... I have a Hussain (?) paper bill, any value? I'll post it soon. Thanks!
I've said pretty much all I thought about. 1. We are starting as many threads as needed for 1st round with names something like "Game 1 Round 1 Thread 1", "Game 1 Round 1 Thread 2" etc. 2. Whoever likes to participate can post a note in any/all of these threads with hope that his/her note is *better* than others. 3. You cannot use the same note within the same Game. 4. Eventually each thread "Game 1 Round 1 Thread n" is locked and winners of each thread play in "Game 1 Round 2 Thread 1", "Game 1 Round 2 Thread 2", then Round3 if needed until there is only 1 Thread and 1 winner. Then we can start all over again with "Game 2 Round 1 Thread 1"...
That sems to complicated and would run together vrt.. What about; Round1 Thread1 Small Size Frederal Reserve Notes of the United States Round 2 Small Size Notes from the "World Notes" Round 3 Large Size Legal Tender Round 4 Large Size Silver Certs etc..etc... go by denomination, Note type (LT,SC,USN,TN,FRBN FRN, Obsoletes, Fractionals) You get the picture right? What do you think? What does everyone else think? Any suggestions from you guys.. Is this even doable? Lets hear what everyone has to say. RB
