I put the word out locally I wanted ALL 1916 Mercury Dimes. Folks came back to me and I paid $3.00 without even looking except for the date. after a month I had ten 1916 mercurys (pretty poor lot) oh well, with blood pressure up I looked for the elusive D. CRAPPED OUT...oh well. game was fun while it lasted. I still have 10 Mercurys lol
no different than playing the lottery I am guessing ( I have never done that) except in this case I can keep the losing tickets and they are worth something lol
I buy lots of silver from a fellow that buys abandoned storage rooms. Last year I plundered one of those bags and found a 1916-?….. The dime was so worn that the rims were flat and the devices were worn flat at the edges. There was a blob where the mint mark was. No way to tell what that blob was though. I finally gave the dime to my dealer buddy and instructed him to give it to a kid and tell the kid that just maybe…….
