I was wondering how many of you coin collectors were lucky enough to buy 1 or more of these coins when the GSA had their sales? Anyone?

the pic is of a 1883-CC. :kewl:

I got one as part of the Mixed CC group, a very nice 1881 CC with a little bit of bag toning on the reverse. Not bad for $15.

I purchased 10 at that time.

    2 1882-CC
    5 1883-CC
    2 1884-CC
    1 1885-CC

Did you score them for the same price as Conder (having been too much of a young 'un at that time, I was oblivious to everything but girls and sports)? That '85-CC for 15 bucks would be a deal any collector would love to get.

My old man scored one back in the '70s. Didn't pay $15 though. If I remember correctly you had to send a bid into the US Mint for these coins and the minimum was $30.

I'd love that too but $15 bucks bought alot back then.

Yes. I landed a job with the "old" AT&T and took money out of my savings. Still have the coins in my collection!

I have a slabbed 1884 CC which is most likely cracked out of a GSA. Its Proof Like.

How old were you? I was 11 (Hence the reason I didn't have more money to buy more of them.)
