Dan, you're absolutely right about the history or story of each token also being part of the draw to these pieces. That is also the reason that makes Conders appealing to me. Btw, do you know where I can get the Bell books?

Catbert is the one that introduced me to these initially. I find them very interesting to look at, and interesting history behind them. But, I will never collect these because my actual interests are elsewhere.

There was an interesting thread recently on Jefferson Nickels. I do have some Jefferson Nickel Type Sets, but do not consider myself a Jefferson collector. But, one cannot fail to see the beauty IMO of the photos that were posted in that thread and other threads of their Jeffersons.

I often see on CT many beautiful coins and tokens that I will never collect, but appreciate looking at them. Often some post coin photos of a much lesser grade, but I find it interesting as to why the Collector likes them and collects them.

In regards to these photos they are truly beautiful. I have no doubt the engravers doing these had the intention of producing copper art and accomplished it. Either Charmy and Catbert have "a good eye" or they are all just beautiful.

Charmy, those are absolutely beautiful! The quality of your specimens and the absolutely stunning photography has piqued my interest in Conders--I love the stories behind them. Your examples with the die cracks make them all the more intriguing.

I try to avoid using the term "dead presidents" in a derogatory manner, but sometimes I find US coinage a bit boring because of that.

Thank you for sharing! You've started me in another direction!
