I was recently diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes by an optometrist, myself. I'm seeing an ophthalmologist in a couple of weeks to try to find out how long it will be before I need surgery. Even with glasses, it's hard to see much out of my left eye lately.

Hope your eyesight is good soon. Did you go to an ophthalmologist?

Exactly 12 months ago I had a cornea transplant + cataract removal on the left eye due to a cornea degeneration. Without that done I couldn't drive/read/work anymore today as fast as it evolves, not even mentioning looking at my treasures would be impossible.
I'm impatiently waiting for the second eye to be done ASAP, hopefully by the end of this year, or early 2022

    Cheers my friend

Cataract surgery has come a long way since my mother had it 40 years ago. My wife was never 20/20 in her life but got two good eyes out of it and only wears glasses now for close work. Mine gave one good and one not so bad as before. Mine were piggybacked with a Goniotomy which took me off Glaucoma meds for about two years before I went back on a smaller dose of fewer drops today. I suggest doing it sooner rather than waiting for it to go to a really bad place. Still, it is always easier to see coins on a large screen using good photos. I wish we all lived closer so we could meet in person for photo sessions. I first did that in the early 90's when members of the local club came to my house and I got to shoot the only aureus I ever touched. Losing good eyesight has been the worst part of the last decade. Visit your eye doctor regularly.

I was operated for Cataracts nearly 2 years ago. I became much better and could even read without eye glasses. The sooner operated, the better it is. Nearly a month ago, I had double- vision like @Bing. I went to the ophtalmologist who operated me. After check-up, he concluded that the case is known and has nothing to do with my eyes which are excellent as far as vision, muscle and nerves. He reassured me that my sight will return GRADUALLY to normal after a month. Now after 10 days I feel the improvement at nearly 40 percent. He was right. Soon I shall be driving my car as usual. Best wishes of recovery to all coin-friends. Cheers.. l
