Terribel to see people taken by sites that do no monitor what they sell

Counterfeits common. Really hurts the legitimate sellers and future
numismatists as many first and unfortunately last time buyers are lured into these sites after finding out they have been burnt probably drop further intrest in the hobby.

My favorite is 1912 V nickel on "wheat penny sized planchet"
12,000 dollars is pocket change, easily a one billion dollar coin.

This really is a terrible pariah on our hobby. If I were young and interested in coins in this day and age.... I would probably shy away from it. Counterfeiters and the Etsy jokers have really given us a black eye.

 

A lesson for all. As with anything else, KNOW what you're buying and from whom you're buying before tossing money like that around!

 

Probably thee worst prices set any where.
