Does this coin look legit, or is it a token ? I'm wondering for a couple of reasons. i've found websites that have the identical coin listed both ways, so it looks like it was a legitimate design, but also reproduced as a token. There are some small spots visible which could be corrosion, or could be just dirt. I'm not ready to try to remove it before finding out a little more information.

It is definitely non-ferrous, so the spots are not rust coming through.

Weight- .02 OZ avdp., 0.6 grams, 9 grains
    Diameter 12.73mm, 0.5 inch.
    Thickness .75mm, 0.03 inch

I agree. It's relatively modern and not original to the period and almost definitely not gold.

Thanks for the input on this one. It was obtained in the mid 1960's. I had some doubts when I first looked at it.

I'm helping an elderly gent dispose of his collection, and this was among the several thousands coins I've been going through.

If it has a bear, it's a token.
