I hit 47,000 posts so here is a gem grade Mercury Dime. A 1940-S, NGC graded MS-65. Hard to photograph with my cell as I can’t get the nice toning to show like it does in hand. It doesn’t show on the reverse photo but the mint mark is an RPM.
What I sometimes do is to keep a finger or 2 in the photo frame, but far enough from the coin as to not affect the focus on the coin. Your finger(s) can be cropped out later but also seem to help the camera with the colors on the coin. It kind of works like a color separation guide, sometimes.
Congratulations! At the rate I’m currently on I should be right on your heels in 126 years………..if you stop now.
Hahaha. I have no intention of stopping. I find it fun, interesting and educational. I retired a few years ago so now I have more free time to enjoy my and other members coins and life in general.
