Okay, I like them all. I'll take one of each and I will pay shipping. Fantastic show-n-tell. Thanks OP and all the others!
My Grandfather picked these up in 1915 (Panama Pacific) and 1925 (Stone Mountain) on business trips to San Francisco & Atlanta respectively. They have never been cleaned, nor do I intend to do so.
When I started collecting in earnest again about 20 years ago, I perused the early commemoratives in the Red Book and made a list of me favorites. Ten of them made my list and I’ve acquired eight of them so far. Great thread and some great examples shown so far!
Good possibility. I carried a 1982 Washington half for a few years and based on its wear, that Sesqui was banging around for 15-20 years
Wonder if the mint or anyone else will make some kind of commemorative to celebrate the 400th Thanksgiving this November.
These ought to give you a target to shoot for . . . . . Gilt and Bronze. HK-346 & HK-347 Jamestown Tercentennial Exposition Z
Of course, another nice set would be these: 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition Commemorative Souvenir's Copper, silver & gold plated bronze HK-301, HK-299, and HK-300 Z
Purchased the 1970 tokens separately, refabricated old mint display box for display case. 2½ inch diameter tokens.
How the bloody devil did I miss this thread? Good thing I had an extra scotch or I'd never have discovered it.
