1870 3C DDO, or something a lot less interesting?

Just wondering what opinions are on this 1870 3c nickel - I know that there is a DDO & RPD variety, but the coin photographed definitely doesn't have a RPD. I'm not sure if the lettering on "United" signifies the DDO, or is it more likely just machine doubling?

This is known as "Longacre Doubling." It isn't really doubling - it happens when the mint worker making the die punches the letter too deep, and you get an impression not just from the letter, but also the shoulder of the punch. Very common, and not worth a premium.
