I don't get to any shows because of health reasons i can't tollerate the travel right now, but the down time has rekindled my 20+ year absence from the hobby. I would like to know if bags of cents from single years are available and just how available they are? I search a lot of rolls each week and still am not very well trained in identifying RPM's and such but i would like to find bags to search of single years. Any help with this is appreciated.
    Thanks

It depends what time period you're talking about.

I have seen bags of cents from the early Memorial cent years (1959-1964), but these only very rarely at coin shows in my area. I'd say one bag per 50 shows or so.

They do exist, but hard to find in person. Maybe easier online.

Modern bags should be more easily obtainable, I would think. Then again, most modern stuff I've seen is in rolls.

I don't think the mint sell bags of cents, although it does sell bags of other denominations. The only mint sewn bags I've bought were from eBay.

They are still around but not much, and the dates your likley to find

They are still around but not much, and the dates your likley to find are the ones nobody wanted like 1961-P, 63-P 74-P - the ones with few doubled dies in them.
People who knew bank workers bought these (from the bank) as they were never avalible from the mint directly to private individuals.
They are no longer availble at all since they went to the monster bags weighing tons.
I have searched several bags such as 1983-P, 1963-D, 1972-P, 60-D, many others. The bags from the mint were $50 contents, sewn across the top and said U.S. mint, the year and mint on them in black lettering. There were also private banks that rolled thier own and then put 100 rolls in a bank logo bag with a lead seal on the top.
There was a man named Kramer that used to advertise in Coin World that sold bags and rolls but he has since passed on. His wife then sold all his stuff. I bought a bunch and she, and him were very nice people.
Like I said you'll find a few here and there but for those dates I mentioned I would never even pay double face value because I have searched these and there just not that much in the more common bags. That plus they are a job to search - 5000 of the same thing over and over and if you don't find something in the first 200 your not very likley to find anything in the remaining 4800, it's a job. Don't think your going to find any MS-68 coins in there either, they just aren't there folks.
