The dealers at a local coin show might not be the best market for these as they generally hate anything modern especially ultra modern. It's worth a shot though to see what happens. You could easily sell them on eBay or an auction house though
How were you able to sell your doubles when the Mint stated that they would not start shipping the orders until early October?
Haven't gotten my issue in the mail yet. And I agree, a commemorative dollar. Even the mint calls it a dollar. On a side note, I am one of two who won either the Morgan or Peace from an ANA contest.
Not difficult at all. As far as selling at a coin show you’d need to know if the players will be there and you need a number. Ebay is simple, take a pic and list. There are dealers that will buy at very respectable numbers but you’d need to know who they are. My take is yes there’s a huge market for the regular Joe, modern coin dealers, tennis shoe sellers, and TV will be and are already all over these. It was easier in the old days as you could find out when TV was playing on Ebay. To my knowledge they’ve shut down these tools. I don’t play the game anymore but after awhile you can learn to make sales with a phone call. With the influx of tennis shoe & rubber band sellers the Ebay market and potential profits have been substantially reduced. In the old day’s an $80 would pull $350/$399. However, today’s sellers will buy at $85 and sell at $140.
Way too low on these numbers, but if you’re happy I suppose that’s important. Likely a presale. Some say it sets the market. The reality is it’s a flea market for the volume buyers that intend to bulk grade. Once the coins actually become available and prices soar some presellers get cold feet and simply refuse to deliver claiming they didn’t get their orders. Old axiom, you shouldn’t sell anything if you don’t know its value.
Oh my Terri. I’m sure if you attempt to sell them on Cointalk this the way I’d go. You will able to barter with a few hundred members. Beats the hell out of just one dealer. But split it up cuz we all want those. Sis
No. The member the post was directed toward, got it. He is a very astute quick on the draw fellow. Plus, he makes amends for my shallowness.
