I agree with MS65 and add what a strike! The left ear of corn actually looks like an ear of corn instead of the normal hot dog. (corn dog?)
Tough to grade. I see plenty of flat spots on the leaves, both obverse and reverse BUT they could be the result of a weakish strike because of the hardness of the nickel metal. Nickel was still giving the Mint a bit of trouble even at this date. Nice coin.
Really nice coin. Must just be the strike, but the inner rim on the obverse is pretty rough on the left side and a bit on the right. Not sure if that is common to these or not.
Hard from a photo, that's for sure. I'm not seeing any real original surface, but that may just be the photo. The field reminds me of a coin that has been cleaned. Just my opinion so I'd like to see the reveal soon.
I'm going to stretch to 66 on this coin. Looks extremely original, quite clean, well struck, and intensely lustrous beneath that halo of light color.
I will go with MS 65. I am cheating a little bit; I have an MS64 of a later year, and this seems to be just a bit better. Both sides are flawless - MS66 would not surprise me either. (I am also lusting over a similar stunning 1900 nickel the OP has listed on eBay - one of you guys should buy it, hint, hint. Did I cross a line here?)
Close-up pictures can overemphasis marks. They can also downplay luster. I can see where this piece could make MS-66 from the full slab photo. I am not so sure about the “+” however.
