I have a grandchild arriving in November. I need a set for that. I got my last ASE's this year and no longer collect quarters. 5 per year times how many variations for 10 years is getting stupid expensive.

I bought my first proof set in 1959. 91 cents for $2.10. I thought that was outrageous.

I just had a grandson arrive in May. Got the regular mint set. The Mint also make a birth year set with the sleeve set up to write the baby's vital stats, along with a spot you can insert a photo. Picked that up for him too. I have mint and proof sets for both of my kids, my granddaughter, and my wife. Also have a silver eagle from the birth years for the kids and granddaughter. I have a proof set for my birth year, but can't seem to find the mint set at a reasonable price.

It gets to be a big task. I have 6 kids, 13 grandkids (#14 due in Nov) and 21 great grandkids. For many years I ordered 20 Mint Sets each year as I was giving each a set every year. I stopped several years ago when I couldn't count any higher and had to make an Excel spreadsheet to keep up.

Dearborn Above average collector - Is that an Error?

My order went in last night before the sale started. (I have enrollment for this one) It is nice to get a coin set that is 'cheap' when compared to the others of this year.

I hope they are putting quality coins in these sets. Back in the ‘80s, they looked for the worst coins they could sweep off the floor and put them in Mint Sets. Then they started putting special coins in them, but backed off from that. Now … I have not looked at these sets in years.
