Since a lot of people here collect TPGed coins, I though it would be good to see what they buy raw, so post a picture of the nicest raw coin that you own. (Or something nice, but raw)

I'll start it. Here's a 1942 Proof Jefferson Nickel. this may not be raw for very much longer. I am pretty well convinced that it would slab cameo, and that's a huge premium and one that would make it more valuable to potential buyers.

Nice coin. Watch those staples when you remove it! I left a good mark on one the other night. Fortunately just a '64 Lincoln.

Nice Nickel & thanks for posting.

Most of what I purchased at FUN was raw so it is difficult to pick & post a specific raw one. Here is the Swiss shooter that I just posted on another thread. I bought it raw at Coinfest in 2008. I thought it was an original specimen & worthy of protecting in plastic. The NGC slab says MS64.

I've had it for a few months & every time I look at it I wonder if it is a proof coin that made it into circulation. It is a nice proof like business strike specimen.

One of my favorite quarter eagles, I think it may have been cleaned and someone may have made it into jewelry. Still a favorite, a 1915 gold piece, the first Indian head I ever bought and my favorite Lincoln error from the 30's. :kewl:

Have you seen The Cave Troll's Dansco 7070 album containing all the holed coins? It is one of the coolest collections I have ever seen. I don't think that he has the gold page. We should ask him to post it again.

    Very best regards,
