Does anyone know where to locate any type of 2"x2" type cardboard "flips" that will hold four cents? Clearly 2"x2" is a bit small... I am only talking about that style. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have seen where people will display two coins by stapling two flips together, but I have not seen a 4 coin flip.
might try on ebay under supplys in coins and currency,I know There's a couple ebay stores that have very good selections, two and three hole 2x2's I've seen, never looked for a four hole design.
I have the two and three hole versions and am just dumbfounded that I cannot locate a four anywhere. I am getting to the point where I would be happy to find any type of "four cent" holder/case.... even those little plastic snap "type" cases, but I cannot even find one of these that has four holes and blank (without some theme).
On the more expensive side, check out Capital Plastics. If they don't have what you want, I believe you can order ones made to your specifications.
Here's a link to an acrylic holder, 4 hole Lincoln Cent coin strip for all 4 of the 2009 Lincoln Cents. Measures 2" x 6". Cost $1.95 http://www.jpscorner.com/Specialty_Holders.htm Let us know if you find a cardboard 2x2. Guess the manufacturers haven't got up to speed for the 2009 Lincolns.
I seriously doubt if there are four coin 2X2's. I have never seen any but I have seem many cases where dealers in foreign coins who are selling Maundy sets (Special sets of coins distributed on Maundy Thursday consisting of special 1, 2,3,and 4 silver pence coins) and they put them into one side of a 2X2 flip and use staples to divide the flip into four quarters. If there were a four coin 2X2 available for cent sized coins I would suspect they would be using them.
I did not mean 2"x2".... I meant 2"x2" type holders. Although four cents would technically fit into a 2"x2", it is a little small. I have found 2.5"x2.5" holders, but none with four holes. The only thing that I have been able to come up with so far is to take four 2"x2"s and make them into a 4"x4", but it is a little on the ugly side because of the number of staples it takes to hold them together.
I dont use 2x2s but I seem to remember hearing about 2x2s that had a self adhesive and didn't require staples. That would dispell your ugly issues relatively easily.
If there are any for four coins, that would be odd anyway. Usually the purpose of those 2x2 flips is to have a place to hold one coin. Usually that is. At coin shows it is more common that dealers use the 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 inch sizes due to savings on space and there are so many of those trays that hold them. I've seen many of the 1-1/2", 2" and the 2-1/2" sizes. All the holders for multiple coins are usually not flips though but there is obviously some, somewhere. Lots and lots of those specially made small holders for things like several different Nickels, all the War Nickels, one of each denomination, etc. I'm sure with this 4 different cent ones someone will be issuing those though.
