I want to see some old raw coins. Please post your finest pre-WWII coin that resides in your collection and give us your grade. For purposes of inclusion, any coin minted prior to 1942 would qualify for this thread since the US involvement started with the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7th, 1941.

I've got a sweet 1939-D Jefferson nickel that has to be MS-67. One of the nicest coins in my collection. Pics coming soon......

I would care to guess MS67 FS on this one if it went to NGC. Would probably come back MS66 FS from PCGS

I am not just sure what criteria I am to use to determine the finest, but lets try this one. I think it will get a 64. Doug thinks a 65. Either way, it is one of the prettier coins I have.

I don't know if you can see it from the photo, but...

    here's a 42 Proof Jefferson that I bought for $25 a little over a year ago.

    ...and yes, it's a cameo!

    Lehigh, I'll see your 64FB and I'll raise you a 66FB ;)

Yeah, I cracked this from a PCGS MS66FB for my type set album and I sort of regret it. Oh well, it still looks nice in a 2x2 cardboard holder :)

I thought that this was a very nice original shooter. I bought it raw. NGC calls it an MS64.

  16. That dime looks far too non-toned for you Lehigh :)

I don't have a picure but for my US coins, it would have to be a 1938 dime I got at CoinFest this past October. Darn thing looks like it was just minted. (It wasn't, I may not know too much but I know that! :) )

I'm sorry the picture is awfull. I am still learning. And still having trouble with dimes, they are pretty small.

For Non US coins, Hmm...probably would be this one. I don't have too much pre-WWII and most of the ones I do are well circulated.

I also have an Italian issue from 1925 that is in spectacular shape, but no pictures, I won it in a contest on another forum.

This is probably my best grade raw coin, it's a very high minted coin and not very impressive , but I have it :p
