I went 65+. meant to hit the * for eye appeal. The luster is real nice, just too bad about the contact on the shoulder.
MS 65 ...crusty original and a hint of solid color....a few unfortunate ticks/hits (obverse bust and reverse above the steps) that keep it from going any higher....not enough color for a star in my opinion
MS 66. I was going back and forth between 65, 65+, and 66. Eye appeal gives it the benefit of the doubt—it has nice color, and luster.
So far 23 members are 64 or higher. I like the looks of the nickel but I just don’t see it grading that high. Let’s see the results from the TPG.
Reveal: This coin has absolutely no business being in either an MS66 holder or any holder with a star designation. I was so unhappy with this coin, that for the second time in 5 years, I returned the coin. NGC should be ashamed of themselves for giving this turd a star.
I was late but voted MS 64 before reading down through to the reveal. I didn't see 66 luster and the hits keep it from a 65, IMO.
The star certainly isn't right here. How have you owned and returned it twice? What made you buy it again?
I meant to type "returned a coin" not "the coin". Typically, I don't bother returning coins that I don't like, I just sell them for no profit, but this coin was so bad, I just didn't think there was anyway to get my money back out of it, so I returned it.
I am very surprised this got a star. Out of all the nickels I have, only 3 have stars, and one of them I bought from you. Doesn’t seem like they give very many stars out for Jeffs.
Oops, I mentioned my guess in my earlier post, but I forgot to register my vote for MS65 in the poll. I just added my vote to final tally.
