Is there a Nickel equivalent for a Cent woody?

    Hello,

    Came across this Nickel and wasn't sure if Nickels had composition problems like some of the cents out there.

    I have seen wood-grain type toning on Jeffersons -- long, streaky toning. But I don't know that I've ever seen it because of an alloy issue.

    I guess the closest equivalent would be the 1958-1959 "Black beauties." These coins had a little different alloy composition, and tended to be very dark.

    Yes five cent pieces can have streaky toning like the cent "woodies"

    Probably the closest thing I have got to a woody Jefferson.

    Now that is one sweet coin Lehigh.

    Any idea what caused the lines on the coin I posted?
