    Besides the sharp edges and a few bubbles, they're surprisingly well done. He's sold much worse and more easily detectable fakes.
    What's going on here?

    Sadly, Lanz has a reputation with me that I will never look at his auction. Even if he had coins that I would want, the doubt that the Lanz brand has created in my mind has made it that I would never shop his coins. Period.

    One of the giveaways that this is a fake is the sloppiness of the devices.

    While there may be some slight variances in the length of oars on authentic versions of this type, for the most part, the ends line up fairly straight, or with a slight bend.

    The end of the oars on this one are all over the place.

    Wonder how high that bid's going to go. Probably will be a stupid price for a stupid coin.

    I'll take my awful, possible fourree, worn to death example over a fake, I guess.
