If you think you found a doubled die, check to see if it's listed on the following sites. Remember, true hub doubling is specific to a die, so it needs to be an exact match. Close=don't have it

If you are serious about searching for doubled dies, you need to understand the characteristics of hub doubling. You'll find numerous mechanical doubling and die deterioration doubling, but true DD are elusive.

Study this link to learn how to spot worthless MD and DDD. It will save you a lot of time.

You should also spend time learning how dies are made and how doubled dies occur.

A lot of stuff, but trust me, if you don't take the time to learn it, you'll just keep wasting your time on MD and DDD.

Ya, I couldn't find one either. But that does not mean it does not exist because I have one for you. Lol.

No yours is not a doubled ear the most important one is the 1984 the doubling is basically impossible to get confused with nav doubling.

There is always the possibility of finding new doubled dies, but since MD and DDD coins are so prevelent, you really need to understand the characteristics of true hub doubling. You need to be showing split serifs, widening of the devices not narrowing, rounded relief not a shelf-like appearance. You also need to understand Class IX doubling on the current single squeeze method of die production.

If this stuff doesn't make sense, start studying. CT members can help answer any questions you may have about the die making process. Or you can keep posting MD and DDD coins and get frustrated

The images provided are not good enough to see anything much. If, 30 years after being struck, you think you have found the only one, then please send it in to Wexler or a grading company for attribution. If it comes back negative, please be big enough to let us know
