Good evening all I’m still running through a huge amount of quarters and came across a bicentennial with a very deep edge on the obverse and wanted to know if it’s possibly a die cap? Any help as always will be much appreciated Die cap? by Darren Edwards posted Sep 24, 2021 at 7:41 PM Die cap? by Darren Edwards posted Sep 24, 2021 at 7:41 PM Die cap? by Darren Edwards posted Sep 24, 2021 at 7:41 PM Die cap? by Darren Edwards posted Sep 24, 2021 at 7:41 PM Die cap? by Darren Edwards posted Sep 24, 2021 at 7:41 PM
Nah. Too drastic. Leave that for the murderers and rapists. So companies that alter coins to make novelty coins should go to prison also? Sheesh.
I wouldn’t quite class this as a novelty to be fair but each to their own. Oh well on to the next Roll
This is what a capped die looks like, nothing like yours i doubt your going to find one in a roll if even possible.
Made a mistake can't think tonight this is a good proper example of an obverse die cap. A reverse die cap looks very similar depending on what stage its in.
