I'm sure this wouldn't straight-grade but I stretched my budget for my type set.

Here is really nice Mint State example of the 1860-O half dollar. This is the #1 piece in my set for the Seated Liberty, No Drapery and No Motto type. It's graded PCGS MS-64, CAC.

And here is an 1861-O half dollar. I bought this one as a dealer from a "walk in" at a coin show many years ago, and decided to keep it. It is raw, and I bought it as an EF.

It's funny how your brain works sometimes. I bought this 1878 half dollar for my type set. It's graded PCGS PR-64. I also think of 1878 as a date for silver dollars. Go figure.

And here is an 1853 Arrows and Rays half dollar. I know that a lot of you won't like this one because it's been dipped white. It's stable, and has not changed color over the 30+ years I have owned it. The mintage is high, but it is hard to find these pieces in Mint State. NGC graded this one MS-64.

Well, I've always agreed with the saying, "Never say never". I guess that's a good thing, because I didn't think I would EVER post this coin. I don't like the scratches on it, never have, never will (oops,I just said never). But, I like having this type coin, and if it didn't have the scratches, I wouldn't have been able to add it to my type collection. And, since I'm from Louisiana, it has extra meaning to me. So... here is one I never intended to post.
