Hello guys. Some members asked me to post some of my findings and future finds. And so I will do in this thread.
I live about 100 km south of Oslo, the capitol at a place named Holmestrand community. The local name here is Hof. I have been metal detecting for a bit over 3 years and had nice progress. I will say buckles and coins is what I the most like to find. Here are some of my finds

I will certainly be following your thread. I have done some casual metal detecting in recent years and found some late 19th century garbage but that is about it. However I will live out my unrealized detecting fantasies through your posted finds!

Very impressive artifacts. A good day here in this baby of a country (age wise) is finding mid to late 19th century copper, silver and on a great day gold. Musket balls, belt or shoe buckles, military buttons and artifacts in the 18th century are rare and coveted. Beyond that, 17th century is virtually non-existent. Norway and the rest of Europe you seem to find 500 AD occasionally. That's mind boggling to me!

Oh I'll be following your thread, closely. Kudos to you on your great finds.

Just a small tripp out to day, about 1,5 h.
    Norwegian 1 øre coin, 1913
    Harmonica part
    Bullet
Part of a toy gun and
Something I hoped was silver, but its not lol Just garbage but nice pattern.

On Sunday I am going with the detecting club to Stokke, about 30 min drive from me. Hope to find something silver and something old there.
I may be going to an old 1500 farm tomorrow for som metal detecting. The signals from the groud has been hard lately cos no rain. Couple of days ago we got a bit of rain, so it helped a bit.

Nice @Randy Abercrombie to have you on board. Nice with some follower =)
    See you soon

I have been thinking for a long time about buying a glass stand for some of my metal detector finds. Especially for my buckles. Today I bought a used one and have finally got it in the house. Attach some pictures of the buckles I have found. Have a few more, but not sure where they are right now

There will be a lot of buttons eventually, and the clearest sign that there have been people there Most of the buttons you find are what I call the poor man's buttons, but there are some inside that are actually great.

Hey Leif…. Do you have to report your finds and possibly turn them over for their archeological importance?

Relics from before 1537 and coins from before 1650 betongs to the state as they say, so they has to be turned in. So many of my best finds ends up.... not in my own collection. I have found buckles from viking age and one fibula from 550-650 and a 400 yrs old coin, and other stuff. Those items had been nice in my own collection =) Here are som pics from what I have sendt in

Leif, I am in awe looking at your historic finds. Truly amazing collection. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us. I keep reflecting on the finds being hundreds of years older than the founding of our nations birth.

Not even including the relics you relinquished to your government, the ones you get to keep are museum worthy in my opinion.

I'm thoroughly enjoying your posts. Thanks again.
