Howdy Mydrivec - Welcome to the Forum !! My thoughts are that there is something wrong with that coin that doesn't have anything to do with the grade. Would you please post a pic that is taken from straight on, or even better a scan.
There is something all over the surface of that coin - like little bubbles or bumps. I was hoping more pics would make it easier to see what it was - sadly they do not I thought at first they might be casting bubbles - but the coin appears to have luster and a cast coin would not. Maybe I'm suffering from a brain cramp but this appears to be a new one on me
surface Thanks. Best I could describe is carbon pitting. Not actual pits as from the side it is smooth. but almost like mold on a flat surface....best I can describe but it doesn't seem to breach the surface but float on top. Trust me, looking directly at it doesn't help as different angles make it appear and disappear. Most prominent around the ear.
Don't really like saying this, but I'm pretty sure if that coin was submitted to one of the better grading companies - it wouldn't be graded at all. It would be returned to you in a body bag I'm puzzled over what it is on the coin
I wish that you could give us a better picture of the "bubbles". I have a gut feeling that's it's a dip gone bad. Maybe a bad rinse job after the dip.....
