Meow, wow, mine were just purchased at auction, and the price: $25 bucks each, including all the extras. This has become an expensive hobby!
Meow, this pandemic has turned me into an absolute auction follower, I live there vicariously and exposed to the ... whatever they're called; I've even made friends online, feel swell about it all. Hope that it's as good for you, than it has been for me.
Meow is a CRH Cat. But every once in a while will buy one. Got caught up in the talk about nickels and TPGs. So first purrrchase in several years.
How good is a coin? Staves off hunger and other human needs, when applied properly. Always has a very human story to tell though. Today I received my very first true ancient ROMAN coin, accidentally, as part of a lot I bought at auction. Thanks to the (shall I use the word) DIVINE help from all the learned members of this internet thread, I too LEARNED it wasn't a treasure (worth ten bucks, at best) yet, to me, ah well, presented an entryway to our history; I'm SO VERY GRATEFUL, to the point of being foolish ... flub a dub and silly. Like my first visit to P-town and experiencing the HORN there, that wiped out everything, every time and brought me to time eternal.
Meow just bought another on like it, but it is an Cat soap holder. Meow will have some free time next week, so will look for the graded nickel hoard Meow has. Hopefully Meow can find them.
Meow will show Meow's small TPG nickel collection next week. Please feel free to study them and give us your opinion of them.
I just had one come back MS66 5FS from NGC and I promise you I won't be selling it for only $50. I would love to see your collection and give my opinion though. Old ANACS slabs often contain amazing coins within.
Did Meow already mention that Meow bought another one for $51 in the Cat soap ones that Meow likes? Most of Meows small nickel collection are in Cat soaps. Cannot remember how many they are 4-5, 6-7? Meow has not bought new one for 2 years, so has not opened the Stashed location for that long. Hope Meow can find them. Meow remembers a lot of them are FS.
Well Meow is primarily a CRH, and OBW BU roll hoarder. Just got back from the bank with a collection dump. 40 rolls of random BU State and ATB. Meow did not really have the budget for that this week, so will have to be on half rations of Meow Mix.
I have all of the Wartime Silver Alloy Nickels, most of which are NGC MS66 and 2 of them are NGC MS65. I don't remember if any of them are FS. I have to go and look at the NGC holders. They are nice and pretty tho. I am "hankerin' " to get all of the silver coins in later dates. I got all of the silver FDR dimes. I'm working on the Washington quarters and the Mercury dimes. I'm going to have to get my wife to go back to work to get most of these coins. At 73, I know I won't be able to get all of them, but the hunt is the best part of having.
OK, So Meow got another one, same date, mintmark, and grade. It is in a Cat soap holder. Meow has also dug up 6 other ones that where purchased several years ago. Mixed dates, but all in Cat soap holders. Should Meow start a new thread with them? Or show them here?
Since they're the same as this topic AND you are the OP, I would think you could, but see what others say. I don't think you can hijack your own thread, but you know many people are touchy about that.
If someone told me that I hijacked my own thread, I would tell them to hijack off! Meow should post away!
Meow has always has a affinity for small Cat soap holders. So when Meow recently purrrchased a 1950d NGC ms66fs, Meow felt Meow needed to get in Cat soap too. So Meow got this new one for $51. It is not nearly as brilliant as the NGC one, as the NGC one is quite a exceptional piece. Meow also dug up a pawful more Cat soaps Meow bought a few years ago. Meow hopes you guys like them.
