1981 Woody?

    Is it possible for an 80's coin to have that woody effect. I know the 20's ones are famous for it.

    Pretty much, the later Lincolns get the more unusual they get. i.e., 1909 is probably the most common. However, so far as I know, they only became impossible when they changed the composition to copper coated zinc. In other words, they are all possible from 1864 to 1982.

    Its when the alloy is improperly mixed or such, some coins made of bronze get a woodgrain effect...
