This Earth on a 1973 D Eisenhower, for all the world (get it hahaha) looks like a double die strike. Is there such a variety on Ikes? I don't see one listed
You can check the following sites for known doubled dies. They are also good to bookmark as references. https://www.doubleddie.com/ http://varietyvista.com/
There used to be a good website on Ikes specifically. I think it was ikegroup or something like that. I can't find it now for the life of me. I think @Rick Stachowski had a tripled(?) die attributed to them. Could be wrong though.
Because it's behind a wall. There is a page you have to click through / use license. Their data is good, but they are way too proud of it.
I have been a member there for about 20 months because I inherited a lot of Ike's and knew nothing much about them. They can be helpful, but it is a bit too elitist for me to enjoy it fully
And the scary thing is that it's FLAT! Those weirdos are right. It hurts my head to think about it. LOL
You found the right person that's for sure . Yes I also have the discovery piece triple die obverse ( 1974-D ) .
