Is anybody aware of the worth of these types of coins? i woundnt say they are perfect but pretty close. one is a 1937 5 deutfthes reich with eagle and swaz, 1927 3 deutsches reich and appears to have 2 kings on the front and a 1855-A, Alexander Carl Herzog Zu Anhalt coin with a dog or a bear wearing a crown walking on top of a stone block building and the words EIN THALER XIV EINE FEINE MARK, around the outter edge is a type os scroll work with german crosses between them and the words GOTT MIT UNS

Can you post pictures of the coins? Value is based on several things and one of the most important is the condition of the coins. So, photos are the best way to fully identify and grade the coins. So, pictures are a must when it comes to value.

That's "Deutsches Reich", ie. German Empire. A pretty common 5 Reichsmark circulation coin.

Sounds more interesting. :) That is a commem, issued in 1927 to commemorate 1000 years Nordhausen, a city in Thuringia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordhausen Current price according to the Jaeger catalog: €120 in VF for example.

That is a thaler from the Duchy of Anhalt, and yes, the beast is a bear. :) Don't really know much more about it ...

The link Christian provided you ( MA Shops) is invaluable for looking up german (and other coins).

To follow up on this, your Anhalt thaler was minted only in 3 years: 1846, 1852, and 1855, with mintages of 10,000, 10,000 and 20,000 respectively. The 1855 is valued at 25, 40, 75 and 150 euros respectively for grades of Fine, Very Fine, EF, and UNC.

(figures from the BST Catalogue on German state coinage 1800-1873)

Actually, if you consider the mintage figures, these are really tiny compared to other contemporary issues like those of Prussia for example.
