Grandad was stationed in Alaska during WWII, so I don't know exactly how this token from Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam made it into his coin collection, but I thought I'd share a pic. Both sides are identical.

    NCO token

I'm hoping somebody knows about this.
I've never seen anything like this. NCO challenge token?

Not a challenge token, it is exactly what it seems to be a mess hall token from a NCO mess in Vietnam. As to how it got to Alaska, it was possibly in the pocket of someone rotating back home.

Grandad was Army right? That's why it was in his collection....:smile

yep, he was Army. The story goes that his unit was training in Alaska and about to be sent to the European theater when some general needed a new secretary. The general insisted on a Texan, so grandad was chosen and avoided action, spending the rest of the war in Alaska.
