Hello everyone . I've always been intrigued by Pattern coins hoping to own one someday . This is own for my bucket list and when I win the Big Lottery, it will be mine. Post your buck list pattern coin OR One that you Own please .
I'm guessing you're looking for US coins... but I don't have any. Here's one from Morocco instead - one of only 4 known.
Here's the only real pattern I own. I have a 1792 half disme and an 1836 Gobrecht Dollar, but I don't view either of those coins as pattern given the high mintages and number of pieces that went into circulation.
Like @physics-fan3.14 said, don't have any US patterns, but I do have quite a few different Polish coin patterns ("Proba") in both copper-nickel: and silver: (It's been so long since I've looked at them, I'm not entirely sure which ones I actually still own - probably all the Cu-Ni ones, don't think I'd have sold the Curie silver piece because I like the design...but I might have sold some of the silvers. Think I sold the one featuring "bears" to another CT member a while back.)
I don't own any patterns or have a bucket list, but a 1942 1c experimental done in glass would be cool.
1859, Judd-241, silver, PCGS PR-62. The coin was designed by James Longacre, who also produced the flying eagle and Indian head cents. The design is often called the French liberty head because the portrait on the obverse is similar in style to some French coins of the era. Gorgeous type that never made it into production. Cal
