What is the new quarter series called ? I see that "Crossing The Delaware" is out in circulation. Can they be ordered from the US Mint ? I can't find anything on the mint site on these quarters except in the mint sets. Dave
I also can't find them in anything but the sets from the mint. Outside sources seem to have them by the roll though. Hmmmm.
I might have to go down to the mint here in Denver and ask. The quarters have been out for a while, I have only gotten 1 in circulation. I couldn't find anything for sale but bank rolls.
I search boxes of quarters for Ws and silver. I have seen a number of them in the boxes I have searched. I also have had a couple of 2021 boxes offered to me but no Ws or silver in those.
I spent 10 years trying to keep up with the State Quarters series, all the variations and manufactured rarities. Then I spent another 10 years trying to keep up with the same thing with the ATB series. I don't intend to start another at my age. I'm sure that the younger collectors will enjoy the hunt. If the mint would just put them all in circulation with realistic populations it would be a little more interesting.
Whatever happened to mothers...the most important role/job/achiever of any and all...? "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world" has been long left in the dust of obscurity...ignored and minimized in favor of "...a village" and all the so-called "real" women who think they must beat their chests all the way up and through the glass ceiling to prove themselves worthy in a society totally conflicted and mixed up. I vote (and did) for a quarter coin...no, a silver dollar if not a gold dbl-eagle...honoring mothers of the full-time variety who know their place of priority and sacrifice in this crazy, mixed-up world going to the dogs without them.
Just went back through some quarters I have not returned yet. Found 63 WCR D mint quarters If anyone wants some pm me.
When the WCR quarter was first announced, I contacted the Mint in Philly about the release of rolls and bags and was told that none would be forthcoming directly from the Mint.
Mint bags and rolls of quarters ended with the ATB quarters. They will probably do it again for a new series but not for the WCD which is a Washington quarter and not part of those past "collector" series. The bank rolls are the only thing available to get them by rolls.
I`m 85 years old and pretty much homebound. If anyone goes to a bank and is kind enough to pick me up a roll or two, I would gladly pay for shipping. P_ D or S. DAVE
I went through the State quarters and then the ATB quarters. When I finished the ATB quarters, I decided at 73, I may not live long enough to complete that set, even if I wanted to, which I don't and won't. The Mint is shoving this crap down our throats. I believe that true coin collectors, won't collect a new set unless they are all in silver or giving them away.
It has nothing to do with the mint, congress passes laws telling them what they have to do. Could some designs be better sure, but again the mint doesnt have control of that either. Thats certainly an overstatement. The coming topics certainly arent ones that generally get people excited and I doubt that will change, but they wont have to be given away for some people too. But yes congrats to the mint employees who wont have to work as hard for the sets with what almost certainly will be low interest
From what I understand, the "new" quarters will "celebrate" many of the women that helped make the United States of America the company we are proud of. It took many women to protest and fight to get the right to vote. The also had to fight to be an equal partner in getting equal pay for equal work. My wife and partner has been an equal partner in our marriage, teaching our children (and me) to be better in all they do (2 girls, 1 boy). I am thankful for my "partner". She taught high school English for 32 years. Many of her students have come back to see her. I enjoyed seeing the light in her eyes when we are shopping former students would stop and want to tell her all of their accomplishments. There are several Medical Doctors, Lawyers, Farmers and many other professions that have stopped to tell her that she was the reason for their success. During the stops at the store, I learned to step back and let her enjoy the accolades former students give her and I bust the buttons on my shirt as I look at the tears in her eyes to have students recognize her. Maybe (probably) we need to recognize those women that helped make our families and our country great, even if we have to have a quarter to let us know what they have done for us.
Just Google (or use Duckduckgo.com) and you can find rolls for around $20 that can be shipped directly to you.
There's no S circulation issue of this either. The S was supposed to be a one year thing for the sanfrancisco mint that was popular so they carried it on through the end of the ATB quarter series. You'd just need to worry about P+D and proof if you do that.
