What Happened To This 1979 Licoln Penny?

    I have no idea what happened to this penny. It looks like it has been rubbed or something. If anyone wants to let me know what it is (if they know), please do. Any responses are greatly appreciated.

    It's damaged, not an error. Some sort of abrasion. Your coin did not leave the mint like in that condition

    Pocket piece or just used a lot during its 42 year lifetime. Definately not run over by a train... It would be flat as paper if that happened.
