Hello all! I am a part time coin collector as a hobby interest. I have know what star notes represent for a while. My Uncle recently asked if I had ever saw a star note like the one pictured ( it is his) I have not ever seen one like this and after extensive research on the internet I have only found one other example of this occurring. It’s in this website actually posted way back in 2014. But no real info about it. So hoping someone can time me it’s history, if it’s a true star note error or possibly fake ( even though I don’t know why someone would fake such a thing on a $1 bill? Here’s my Uncles note. I will try to attach the post that’s similar to this note that I found here. Or at least take a screen shot of it and post. Apologies, this was my third attempt at making this post that I failed to point out exactly to what I am referring to. Notice how the upper right serial has the star at the end in the upper position vs the center position as seen on the lower left serial number and all other star notes I have seen has been in the center position.
Ok now I see its just a little off place nothing truly special and doesn't change anything value wise still just $1 although neat.

I would group that in with the minor stuck-digit notes we see here so often, and add that it’s within BEP tolerances, so I would not call it an error.
It is certainly a little 'different' than your ordinary or usual Star note, but not so different that it is highly valuable. To a really "dyed-in-the-wool" Star note or currency error collector, that error would mean more than to average collectors. Here's something I noticed that may or may not mean anything : As I understand the printing process, everything that is green on this side of the note was printed at the same time, yet that Star is the only thing I see out of everything, that is out of position. How did that happen, and does that mean anything? Anybody?

The Star, like all of the letters and numbers of the serial number, are on individual wheels and rotate to change. Once and a while, one will stick a bit out of position. NAV, no added value and not all that uncommon. It may stand out more on a star note because the star is so much smaller than the numbers and letters. If you like star notes, keep it.
The other star is more significant if it is in fact filled. It is blurry but I think I can see a small spot of white.
