So I need to get one. Cant find a good inexpensive one. All the ones on Ebay are $300+. Anyone know of a good source for one that is moderately priced but good. Linky ?? Thanks in advance....
I have not the slightest idea what you are looking for, from your description. When I think of a copy stand, I think of a device to hold papers in place while they are transcribed. These can be purchased for under $20. Stick a light next to them, or buy a small light with a clamp for another $10, and you're all set. What am I missing?
Here are a few from the bay... http://cgi.ebay.com/Kaiser-205361-Copy-Stand-ReproKid-Without-Light-Set-NEW_W0QQitemZ130355595741QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1e59cc89dd http://cgi.ebay.com/Professional-Dual-Light-Kit-f-Large-Copy-Stand-w-bulbs_W0QQitemZ360223164950QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item53def94a16 -LTB
Now I understand. Sorry I can't be of more help. If the prices are more than $300, it seems to me you'd be better off making a custom rig of some type.
In theory a well made $300 copy stand will last you the rest of your life, so you really have to figure the cost on a yearly basis. Here's my Kaiser copy stand... And here's a link with more info... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/93108-REG/Kaiser_205411_Copy_Stand_RS_2.html This will support a heavy SLR with a Speedlite and diffuser as pictured above. Here is a cheaper one intended to be used with a lighter camera..... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/483954-REG/Kaiser_205361_Repro_Kid_Copy_Stand.html Scroll down to view the optional lights.
With your copy stand can you just clamp on two of those lights that people use at coin shows for there tables? Will those work well with a specific bulb?
I was just looking for something like this. How large is it? How can I know if it will fit my camera? How many lights should I have?
Here is mine. You can get the camera stand for $14.99 at wal-mart. I also use a halogen light. Here is a picture using my cheap set-up.
I am going to try and do it on the cheap... got a couple of lights and will use a tripod... the copystand just makes it a lot easier to have consistent shots though...
Here's a nice setup on ebay right now, not too $$$$ http://cgi.ebay.com/CAMERA-film-cop...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca947e400
If you have a large lens on your camera you must ensure you have a heavy duty copystand. Well worth the investment.
I went with this one and made my own base. It has a strong spring that works well with a heavy camera. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/329261-REG/Bencher_90001_Column_and_Carriage_with.html
schatzy, I have a light weight Olympic camera w/ a good macro lense. I like your cheapo tripod which I'm going to buy.
I think Twosisters in San Antonio have some for a reasonable price. I've been looking for one myself. Good Luck.
I bought a $13.99.00 Targus Tripod from Walmart today. What is the preferred color to use for background when taking pictures of coins\currency? Which software should I use to remove the background from the coin?
I bought the Targus tripod for $13.99 from Walmart. What works best as a background? Dark color or light color? Which software should I use to remove the background from the coin\currency? Thanks, m.
