"It’s an amazing insight into what greedy bastards the ancient Romans were.” And civilisations have learnt well from them, think of a beer and a hot dog at an NFL football game. The article of course is in jest, but there is a wee glimmer of factual in it.

Funny!...however: "they were actually far more advanced than modern stadiums in the sanitation of bathrooms."....obviously they did not discover the "Men's" room! (No, I know it's a joke!)
I used to go to watch the A's there when Canseco and McGwire were having there breakout HR season ('87). I would skip out of work on Thursday at noon, drive over to the stadium ($3 parking), pull up to the outfield bleacher ticket booths, park, walk 50 feet, $3 for a bleacher ticket, get a dog and a beer ($5 total) and have my choice of seat in a practically empty bleacher section. Never got a home run ball though I did see those guys bash a few! What was the topic?
...This was All just, just That Good. Thanks. Lots. I lost track of the Onion once I stopped seeing them in print. Gotta bookmark the website. Guess it's probably just as well that the Romans didn't have movies or airplane travel. ...Needing to second @Alegandron. ...Oh My God, Who Knew? :<}
