Is anyone else here as bummed as I am about Norm Macdonald dying yesterday? And to keep it on-topic, here is something he posted a couple years back, and I'm pretty sure the coin referenced was an ancient coin: "A man is a coin, no obverse without reverse. If you like, remember Jeff Epstein as monster, destroying lives with a wicked nonchalance. But, for me , I will remember him as the man who killed Jeff Epstein." And if that's not good enough for keeping it on-topic, I won't be offended if the thread gets deleted/moved.
I was saddened to hear, that Norm has left this world. It saddens me, to see so many people, whom I watched on TV and in the movies, pass away. One of my favorite memories of Norm, is when he played the voice of Death, on The Family Guy, Season 2 Episode 6. In later episodes, the voice of Death was played by Adam Carolla. "Yeah, that felt good, dropping me hard on the couch like that." "Is he joking?"
Celebrity deaths don't usually affect me, but, man, this is the first celebrity I've followed this closely for this long to pass away. Everything he touched turned golden as long as he was there. Just bit parts everywhere (like Family Guy), or guest shots on late-night shows. His last stand-up special on Netflix was so, so funny.
Probably the saddest I've ever been hearing about the passing of a celeb. Norm was a real one! He's def in my top 5 fav comedians of all time. There's a YouTube channel titled 'I'm Not Norm' that regularly uploads Norm material, always good for a hearty laugh. He will be missed. RIP
Him and Chappelle are my two constant go-tos, and Norm's the one if I just need to laugh. He's the first stand-up I ever saw live, and to that point in my life I had never laughed so hard. I was 21, and seriously shocked that I could laugh like that.
