I, in fact, saw that screenshot (one similar to it) and have been trying to contact Pinehurst since yesterday afternoon. Only response I got through their website was "create an account then follow these steps and contact us through this email address and we will get back to you" - so I did that and no response.

Went to their eBay store, contacted them there, got a message that says contact them through their website.

So...called the number on their website again, this time just hit 0 and spoke with someone very friendly who did "something" to get my email into the right queue, then told me they'd be in touch.

The whole process at Pinehurst seems overly convoluted and complicated, if you ask me...but $400 is $400. So I'll at least give them until the end of the day to respond.

EDIT: Just received an email from them, they are no longer offering $400/set - down to $350/set.

So if they are buying at $350 what are they going to sell it at ?

No idea. Their overall communication seems to be very, very slow…and if they end up buying mine, it’ll kind of be up to them what they charge someone else for it, right?

Of course. But if they buy them for $350 and then sell them for $400 or even $450 to the public then you could as well, right ? I am just curious what the sell to market rate is - but I suppose ebay provides some of this information as well.

They probably get them graded in bulk then hope for much higher premiums on the 70 sets and still make some money on the 69's.

What is the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. I have given up with the Mint. IMO if there is an issue you want, wait a year, the price will drop below Mint's price. The times you miss getting an item from the Mint and it increasing in value will be less than if you wait. Again, IMO but not sure the Mint cost and the frustration is worth it.

Not always. Some special editions remain well above the original buy price. Not often but it happens.

Not really interested in the reverse proofs, but still hoping for another go at getting one...just one...of the 2021-W Morgan commemoratives with the W showing, for my newly-minted Army LT Col. Not sure if the mint will release anymore or not...if anyone knows...? Hard to keep track (at least for me) of all the issues and mints/no mints, PF/Unc, more or not, et al. Thanks to one of our members I WAS able to secure a 2021 Peace commem...not sure, now, from which mint, if marked or not...no matter, just glad to get it.

They have no plan to sell at $400 or 450, some end up on HSN, others graded in bulk may specify not to holder the 69’s, the HSN coins $$999.99-$1200ish, plus storefront sales, Graded sets eventually meet the dealers pump and dump but long term the mintage should calm the numbers way down. Doing it yourself for example on Ebay you suffer the fate given the hundreds of newbies content to fight to the bottom.
Personally I have no interest in the series after building several sets in which milk spots appeared at random sometimes years later.

I logged on and ready 10 minutes early but 2 minutes past the release time, it still showed "Remind Me". I hit refresh and got the BAD GATEWAY message. Tried several dozen more times with the same result. Tried to log back in several times with the same result. Kept trying and finally got to log back in and sent a strongly worded email that began with "This is total BS...". I knew it wouldn't help, even if it was read but it made me feel better. Then, about 20 minutes later I gave it another try to confirm they were all gone and got logged in. Checked and it wasn't marked as "Unavailable" so clicked on "Add to Bag" and got one. Survived through countless attempts to check out and pay, including the typical messages and finally got a confirmation of my order. Confirmed the Mint charged my card. WOW. I was totally gobsmacked. Maybe my email actually did something. At least I'll believe it did. Might be simple luck...

    glad you got it Mike,

because it was a Household limit of 1 it ran longer than others did, it was rough for the first hour, but after that it settled down as the bots got theirs and wandered off to go troll youtube or something to get better at english.

Thanks, John. My adult son was able to order a set as well, so the family got 2.

    Good hunting.

I see the flea-Bay trolls are $350.00 and up. One guy claims he has it "In Hand". Go figure.

I thought it was one per household?

Does your son live at a different address?

yeah ebay being ebay, those folks are just trying for a quick flip in and out. It's possible for them to have them in hand if they paid for NDA on it instead of slower cheaper options. Seems since the 13th they have been in the $350-$400 range for ungraded. it was higher before, but those guys are undercutting each other. cheapest one I saw sold for $299.99... I guess just looking for their quick flips.
Pricing is all over the place though.

I think the 2021 morgan dollar thing is more crazy. people paying like $150 for the P,S or D, $300-$350 for the O and near $500 for the CC and none of it is even available until October at least and all have the same mintages. time will tell I suppose, but I think with the morgan dollars, people are flipping and re-flipping things they don't even have.

I was able to order three each of Morgan's, except for the "O" and the Peace dollars. Still on backorder. I've been watching the prices. Time will tell if they holdup. As for now they're for my collection but I may sell one of each, haven't decided yet. I've been pretty lucky with the Mint this year but it takes a lot of persistence. Once I get them I'll decide if any are worth sending to one of the TPG's for encapsulation.

Interesting update from the Mint. Checked the status of my several backordered Morgan's and noticed that the 2021 ASE Reverse Proof Set that I ordered for my son and was paid for with his card, shipping to his address was CANCELLED. No explanation.
