FYI:

Look closely at the enlarged pictures of the back [missing] leg.

You can see 'scrape marks where someone removed the leg, and then started to smooth it out.

Apparently, someone heard about the 3 leg Buffalo, and tried to make one, using the wrong leg

 

That would make sense, though it must’ve been a good job or done a long time ago, the tool marks are even hard to see under a magnifying glass. Neat though lol
