DDO On A Kennedy Half

    A little damage from a coin rolling machine and that’s a shame but it is what it is. A 1974-D DDO Kennedy Half Dollar.

    The first 3 photos are mine. The last photo is from the Red Book. It has definite strong doubling in TRUST. Even the T is doubled.

    I don’t go looking for things like this but when I saw it, it was so obvious I had to get it and it was a low price.

    How come the one on the example is Strong doubling and yours isn't ? :confused: Please educate me .

    As the die continued to deteriorate the doubling would change. RUS is what to look for. Mine has doubling on TR with very little on the U and some on the S.

    Nice find - I haven't had much luck pulling 74 D DDO from bank rolls/boxes/bags, but luckily I did happen upon three in original mint sets. It's pretty cool when the doubling is THAT strong you don't really need a loupe to see it.
