Switched to my phone, and while logging in I got a popup wanting to know if I wanted to download "account login". Huh? There's another new one. Rick L.
Ok......got an order acknowledgement email.....that's 50 minutes out of my life that I'll never get back.
Glad you got a set Ken, even if the mint web site is the pitts, it will seem worth it when they are in hand. I know another collector that got a confirmation at 49 minutes, so they are not sold out yet.
Hey guys if you’re not sure if your order went through try placing it again. You will get this message so there is no worry about accidentally ordering multiple and being charged more than once.
wooo hooo... order went through 1 hour and 10 mins after starting. Its now selling for $500 on ebay....
wow clicked add to bag site crashed spent 10-15 trying to reload went to town checked site said complete order! Went through and printed receipt got it at 1:10
Got to the confirmation, and then the denied page with the button to click and hold to prove my humanity. Which then sent me back to the beginning of checkout again. Nothing but errors after that. So close. Rick L.
OK, this is insanity. I was able to get one of these silly things in my cart in the first few minutes but received continual error messages ever since, even up to the point when I tried to confirm the order. I thought I'd give it one more try before giving up entirely and it went thru. And I even received a confirm on my phone with a order number at 12.10 central time (ie an hour and ten minutes after the festivities started) a couple of minutes after it seemed to go thru online. And they've already even hit my credit card so I guess I got one? Not sure what the lesson is here and not sure it was really worth the effort but the receipt makes me feel better about the otherwise questionable use of an hour this morning.
Gave up. Walked away and had a nice lunch for 45 minutes. Came back and enough people had bailed on the system to let me in and place an order. All I have is an order received email, but the item page still shows available to order and refreshes quickly now. Rick L.
The website bugged out when I went to check my own personal orders. Instead of showing me my own orders the US Mint website was like: "Hey ya know what? I'll let you see EVERYONE's orders!" However I want to make it perfectly clear that I didn't do anything to attempt to circumvent the US Mint website or to access this information. All I did was clicked "Order Status" and nothing more.
are those possibly your own old orders? my orders screen looks similar but they are just old orders shipped, returned, etc.
Update on the process. I remember when one of our members advised that making a purchase as a 'guest' worked very well. It took many refreshes, but I finally got through after 70 minutes and made a purchase as a 'guest.' Regardless, if a company like amazon.com had a purchasing website like the U.S. Mint, amazon.com would be out of business by the end of the day.
No they’re not mine. I’ve only ordered a total of 5 things from the US Mint. Plus if you look at the dates all of them are dated today and the order numbers are consecutive. Definitely not my orders. Mine looks like this:
quite the bug in their site, if you can get to that information by accident, imagine what bad guys may be able to do intentionally. That said, I would think tinkering in here would draw unwelcome attention quickly.
Fortunately I can confirm that no personal information is accessible even from there. If I try to click an order number it just refreshes the page instead of showing any details about the order or who placed it. I didn’t even try to do it. I was just trying to look at my own orders so I clicked “order status” and saw everyone’s orders.
