What do you look for in a partial wheat set.

If you were looking for partial wheat sets that do not contain the 4 keys or errors, what characteristics do you look for?
Are there certain coins that must be included?
If only some of the semi key dates are available, which ones do you prefer having in the set?

Does it matter to you if a book is included?

I am asking this to help minimalize costs when making sets to sell to get the best bang for my buck.

    Thanks

If its a partial set I like to see at a minimum 10-s through 16-s the 22-D and 24-D all F or better them lesser coins like the 26-d,s and 27-d,s the 11-18 D, etc.

Most partial sets I've came across were missing both 09-S's, 11-S, 14-D
    24-D, 26-S & 31-S. Almost all of them have a shabby looking 22-D and a 09-VDB...

I really think it is kind of a broad question. If I were starting out collecting wheat cents on the budget I am currenty facing, I wouldn't be expecting any key dates at all. Figure what you'd like to spend at first, and know what you are looking at, and find a good deal. On ebay, you'll have to be extra careful when estimating the value of a collection. Wheaties are still pretty hot, so there's plenty of people willing to take advantage of newbys out there! You might be just as well off buying a bag of 1,000 or more wheaties and trying your luck that way.

I won a coin board (one of those antique ones) for about $50 that was from 1939...so it went up to 1940. The coins were all there except '22 no D and the other four keys. It had the 10-s to 16-s in VF condition :)
