After the Susan B Anthony coins were minted, the Mint also included a dollar size token in a proof set in order to use up all their plastic slabs they had on hand.
Well, my friend, if you follow that analogy, no one would EVER ask ANY questions, as virtually everything is available to be researched/found somewhere, but particularly so via the internet. Also, it could be this: not everyone is savvy with using the internet to such an extent...and/or that it's simply easy to just forget. I mean, we're on a forum of like-minded hobbyists, collectors, novices, pros and so-forth who talk and exchange info, advice...and answers...and just easy to inadvertently ask a question that is likely to also be easily researched. I've sure done it. That said, understand your basic point...there indeed are questions that seem (to some) quite elementary and so common-sensical as to beg the question of, why...? The ones that irritate me are the questions of decision-making..."what should I do?"..."should I do this, or buy that?"..."can someone report this?"...etc, etc. Just some thoughts. God Bless America on this somber day of remembrance and honor.
I put probably a half-dozen of those into a bunch of cents that I brought to the bank years ago thinking that it might spark some interest among those who'd never seen one.
it is a mint token found in mint sets where the dollar coin is absent to take up the space,,,,i have about 100 of these from breaking down mint sets, some are unplated, all unc worth about 25 cents if you can find buyers, lol
